It’s holiday time, and what better way to reward your favorite programmer geek than with a T-shirt? Following are some of my favorite programmer T-shirts:
Java Programmers Change Lightbulb
Front: How many Java programmers does it take to change a light bulb?
Back: You’re still thinking procedurally. A properly designed light bulb object would inherit a change method from a generic light bulb class, so all you’d have to do is send a light bulb change message.
I Manage Programmers
Front: I manage programmers freakin’ primadonnas!!
Will Code for Food
Front: Will Write Code For Food.
Back: It pays to be obvious, especially if you have a reputation for subtlety. — Isaac Asimov
Bigger & Better Idiots
Front: As programmers create bigger & better idiot proof programs, so the universe creates bigger & better idiots!
Multi-Threaded
Front: multithreaded t-shirt
Don’t Panic
Front: DON’T PANIC! I’m a programmer
Programmers Never Die
Front: Programmers never die: They just GOSUB without RETURN.
PHP
Front & Back: PHP pretty hot programmer
Do It in Binary
Front: PROGRAMMERS DO IT IN BINARY
Pale Skinny Guys
Front: Chicks dig pale skinny guys that write code.
More RAM
Front: Geeks do it with more RAM
Will Not Fix Your Computer
Front: No, I will not fix your computer.
Future Programmer
Front: Future Computer Programmer
Programming is an Art Form
Front: Programming is an art form that fights back.
ASCII Stupid Question
Front: ASCII stupid question, get a stupid ANSI!
Please Don’t Tell Mama
Front: Please don’t tell mama I’m a programmer — she still thinks I’m playing piano in a cathouse…
Give Me a Few Pointers
Front: School of Computer Science
Back: (XKCD Comic) Man, I suck at this game. Can you give me a few pointers?
0x3A28213A 0x6339392C 0x7363682E
I hate you.
Definition of a Programmer
Front: pro’ gram mer (n.) An organism that converts caffeine into code.
No Place Like Home
Front: There’s no place like 127.0.0.1
Programmer Riddle
Front: Why do programmers always get Christmas and Halloween mixed up?
Back: Because DEC 25 = OCT 31
If Whitespace Was Truly White
Front: If whitespace was truly white… it would show up on a black background.
If You Don’t Like My Attitude
Front: Tech #710 If you don’t like my attitude call: 1-800-555-RTFM
Change the World
Front: <I tried to change the world, but I couldn’t find the source code>

Why can’t these geek tshirts have just a little touch of design. It would be so much better.
December 1st, 2008 at 10:08 pm
Those are awesome. The php shirt and geeks do it with more ram are my favorites. But really, there is no place like 127.0.0.1
December 1st, 2008 at 10:09 pm
Please give credit to the comic in shirt “Give me a few pointers.” The comic is xkcd, at xkcd.net. if you like nerd jokes, you should definitely check it out.

“Real programmers use “COPY CON FILENAME.EXE”
December 1st, 2008 at 10:49 pm
This is totally amazing and funny. Great and I mean great job!!!
December 2nd, 2008 at 2:47 am
Why is it that people think a source has to be listed in order to post the work? It would be fair use with or without attribution which doesn’t matter either way for xkcd.net because the copyrighted material on the page belongs to a T-SHIRT company.
December 2nd, 2008 at 3:53 am
Pretty Hot Programmer and conversion of caffeine into code are my favs.
December 2nd, 2008 at 4:59 am
I don’t know if an xkcd shoutout is *required* but it is very relevant to those who found that joke funny. Much more laughs to be had.
December 2nd, 2008 at 5:39 am
My Favourite is:
There are 10 types of people in this world. Those that understand Binary, and those that don’t 🙂
December 2nd, 2008 at 6:31 am
Very Funny! :.)
December 2nd, 2008 at 7:23 am
These are all awful. As quotes and sayings on a website, sure, these might have been alright – but that doesn’t mean anyone’s ever going to want to wear them on a T-Shirt.
Especially not one that looks like it was done in mspaint.

Best Programmer T-Shirts…
December 2nd, 2008 at 12:36 pm
Um, way to rip off a bunch of T-Shirt designs from Thinkgeek.com
Some of these designs are original, but many are just plagiarized from other, more successful, geek-wear companies.
Originality sells, try it some time.
December 2nd, 2008 at 12:50 pm
>Um, way to rip off a bunch of T-Shirt designs from Thinkgeek.com
…which are ripoffs of designs from Programmer Gear.
Most of these phrases have been around for decades. About the only thing truly original is the XKCD comic. But they all still make me laugh.
December 2nd, 2008 at 3:02 pm
I thought it was pretty obvious that these are T-shirts produced by another company (Zazzle). I could’ve chosen ThinkGeek or ProgrammerGear, but Zazzle has nice big photos that show up well in the article.
If you are looking for originality, perhaps you should go to CafePress and make your own designs. If you come up with something good, LMK, I’d be glad to show it here.
December 2nd, 2008 at 3:51 pm
haha. Some real classics there.
I like, There’s no place like ….
You should add one there:

December 2nd, 2008 at 5:03 pm
Yeah, an XKCD “shout-out” is required, though the license XKCD is provided under calls it “attribution”, as in “by-attribution, non-commercial” .

while I’m not sure about the xkcd “shout out”, the website is http://www.xkcd.com, not .net 😛
December 2nd, 2008 at 6:35 pm
If you’re in Canada you can make these and more at wordans.com
They’ll look better too… I love the MSPaint diss.
Also, some of the quotes are cheesy.
Here’s my favorite quote not here:
“Documentation is like sex: when it is good, it is very, very good; and when it is bad, it is better than nothing.” -Dick Brandon
December 2nd, 2008 at 7:45 pm
God, those prhases are old, or bad, or both.

Awesome. I had to think briefly about the Halloween/Christmas thing. I LOL’d at ASCII stupid question, but my fav is the xkcd.net cartoon.
Very Nice, thanks for a mid-afternoon chuckle.
December 3rd, 2008 at 2:12 pm
From xkcd.com :
Can we print xkcd in our magazine/newspaper/other publication?
If it’s a not-for-profit publication, you need no permission — just print them with attribution to xkcd.com. If it’s a for-profit operation, I will probably give you permission if you email me to let me know. You can post xkcd in your blog (whether ad-supported or not) with no need to get my permission.
http://xkcd.com/about/
So if you use if then please respect the original request for attribution!
December 3rd, 2008 at 2:30 pm
I appreciate all the discussion about attribution for XKCD (one of my favorite web comics), but hopefully you all notice the link is there.
December 3rd, 2008 at 3:20 pm
When you write assembler you don’t have to say it cant be done.
December 3rd, 2008 at 4:49 pm
Haha. I love the PHP one. xD
And the RTFM one.. classic. xD
December 3rd, 2008 at 7:08 pm
These t-shirts are really bad. Very unfunny — even for a tech person.
December 3rd, 2008 at 8:04 pm
>These t-shirts are really bad. Very unfunny — even for a tech person.
I’m glad I don’t work with you! Zero sense of humor. Or too dumb to get the jokes.
December 4th, 2008 at 3:59 am
127.0.0.1 is not home it is localhost!
However Home in linux is ~
So it should read:
There is no place like ~

December 5th, 2008 at 12:17 pm

Thanks
December 5th, 2008 at 3:41 pm
as for the comment on the geek t-shirt,,, well honey, it is the geeks whom helped develop computers and all the amazing software for u’r cyber experience. do not complain about the style of the programmer, zip u’r lip and create your unique idea for the shirt of u’r choice,, if you do not like what u c, down load sudo rm-rf/ and the problem will no longer be around…
the end !!!

What a joke. The Pointers shirt is an xkcd comic. xkcd is licensed under the Creative Commons license which means that it CANNOT be reproduced for sale without EXPLICIT permission from the author. And I very much doubt that Randall Munroe would give permission for someone else to sell a shirt of his comic when he all ready has quite a nice store going on http://store.xkcd.com
Guys, if you’re going to buy ANY of the shirts on here, know that you’re supporting illegal actions, such as profiting off of a copyrighted comic.
December 6th, 2008 at 12:16 am
>And I very much doubt that Randall Munroe would give permission for someone else to sell a shirt of his comic when he all ready has quite a nice store
Yeah, it looks like Zazzle pulled the xkcd t-shirt. Thanks DevTopics for bringing this matter to our attention (even though it wasn’t your intention 😉
